Today's product is really something I would really like to LOVE entirely but didn't. I don't exactly hate it but I won't recommend it either.
It's the Beach Tint from BECCA Cosmetics. If you've never heard of BECCA Cosmetics before, well give me a high five! I'm not even sure where it originates from but the founder is from West Australia while I first heard of the brand from Lisa Eldridge's videos, and she's British! The packaging says it originates from the UK while the product is made in Germany. You can find BECCA Cosmetics at Sephora website, in Europe or from Luxola website!
|The name is almost rubbed off though|
I liked it at first. I still do. This Beach Tint looks really natural on the cheeks and lasts for a decent amount of time. The finish is gorgeous as well. Not too shiny, not too drying - just nice. The pigmentation is great. I'm on the darker skin spectrum and it does shows up nicely on me. Imagined it would look lovely on any skin tone and works wonder as a base for a powder blush.
Lo and behold, it took the turn for the worse when applied on the lips! This was supposed to be a dual purpose product but it dried up my lips like nobody's business and trust me, my lips don't get chapped easily. This is pretty hardcore drying we're talking about! The kind with a bloody ending. :( I stopped using it on my lips since.
One other thing that frustrates me the most is that there's no name of the shade on the tube itself. Each product is supposed to smell like its name so I figured mine is Strawberry since it smelled like one. But heck, it could be Raspberry or Guava for all I know. Smart move, BECCA Cosmetics.
Would I buy this for myself? Strangely, I might. It's a really nice blush, especially in our (Malaysia) unforgiving weather. And they're also cruelty-free, which is pretty cool. But I won't repurchase in a hurry though. I still think it's waay too overpriced.
